Atletico de Kolkata head coach Antonio Lopez Habas is having talks with FC Pune City to take over as their head coach for the next ISL Season, according to reports from many news sources.

Former Valencia coach Habas is undoubtedly, one of the most high profile coaches in ISL, and he has done his part very well to win a trophy for ATK in first season and seeing them to the semi-finals in the second season.

However, the Spaniard has been in midst of many controversies in his coaching career in Atletico, having been fined by Disciplinary committee more than once. He was slapped with a four-match ban by the All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee and a fine of Rs.5 lakhs for his anger during the second leg of the semi-finals at the Salt Lake Stadium against Chennaiyin FC.

The Hrithik Roshan co-owned club, FC Pune City finished seventh in the second edition under David Platt despite having led the table at the start of the campaign. In the first season of the ISL, they finished sixth with Franco Colomba at the helm.

It is also very well known that Habas didn’t share the best rapport with some of the guys Atletico management. It was heard during the second season that, One of Co-Owner, Sourav Ganguly stepped in to save Habas from getting fired after the end of Season 1.

Let us hope Habas sorts all rapports and stay with our club itself for the third season too, as it is very difficult to replace some body as passionate and talented as Antonio Lopez Habas.
