Atlético de Kolkata have begun their ISL season 3 preparations. Iain Hume, Sameehg Doutie and Oftense Nato have signed extension deals with the inaugural champions of Indian Super League.

According to those close to the development, Atlético officials sent contracts to the trio with improved deals as they seek to retain some of their best players from last season.

Hume has been one of the most sought-after players following his 11 goals for Atlético de Kolkata in the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). However, the former Leicester City striker has opted to renew his contract with the Kolkata franchise.

Doutie too impressed in his very first season as he scored three and assisted six apart from creating countless goal scoring opportunities for his team-mates.

Nato will be playing for the Kolkata franchise for the third season running as his versatility to fit in as a defensive midfielder or a centre-back has been an asset.

“I can’t take names but we are in the final stages of negotiations with three or four foreign players that we wish to retain. I expect the deals to be signed soon and we will make it official then,” said Atlético de Kolkata official –
