José Molina The New Boss of YBK ARENA

Atlético de Kolkata (ATK) the champions of the inaugural edition of Indian Super League in 2014 welcomed Jose Francisco Molina Jimenez as their head coach in YBK Arena for the third and upcoming edition of the tournament.

He will be filling in the void created by Antonio Lopez Habas, who has switched allegiance to rivals FC Pune City.

Jose Molina represented his national side Spain at the 1998 World Cup and two European Championships in 1996 and 2000. Molina’s club career was intimately related with Spanish giants Atletico de Madrid, ATK’s co-owner, for whom he featured in 189 matches over a period of five years as their goal keeper.
As a player, Molina went on to win the La Liga and Copa Del Rey titles with Atletico de Madrid in 1995-96 season before joining Deportivo de La Coruna with whom he lifted the Copa Del Rey trophy.

Molina has been a successful manager for clubs like Villarreal B and C divisions, Getafe B divisions and Kitchee (one of the most talked about teams from Hong Kong).
In his short one year stint in Hong Kong, Molina managed to achieve a remarkable domestic treble with the Premier League, League Cup and FA Cup and he guided Kitchee to the AFC Cup quarter finals.

With Kitchee we have seen José played with what you say is a Spanish style of football keep the the ball and dominant the field. For about 2 years now; Antonio Habas did a great job with Atletico side with same sort of tactics and José will try and continue with this style as he hints in his first press conference to play pressing and keeping ball will be his target. But as every other team will want to beat us and it is hard to continue this form and style so you need to evolve and you need to evolve in your team’s style as other teams will study your style and how they can win over you. ATK need to change something through evolution but not a great change but some changes you need to do. This is what the New Boss planning to do in my opinion.
José just needs to make a couple of defensive midfield signings and a left winger  to address all areas.

I am definitely sure that he will showcase the finest quality of football under his able guidance and will bring success.
