Preview – CFC vs ATK

ATK are off to road once again, and this time they are up against the reigning champs, Chennaiyin FC, against whom, they have never lost in Hero ISL, barring the Semi Final Leg 1, played at the Balewadi Stadium, PUNE.

#FirstChampions are up against the reigning champs.. Brace yourself up for a thriller on Sunday night..

ATK have slipped to the 5th place at the league table & it certainly brings some panic to the team, as team ATK still need 2 wins and a draw to secure a place into the semis.. Can they do it? Coming days to decide on this!

Conceding sloppy goals, creating less  goal scoring chances, Doutie & Jairu’s injury.. ATK has a problem of plenty to address right now, having said this, ATK has players like Iain Hume, Helder Postiga, Borja Fernandez & Tiri who can take the game away from an opponent single handedly.. FINGERS CROSSED!! ❤

We’ve been getting several messages regarding Doutie’s injury status.. Right now, All we know that Doutie has travelled with the team to Chennai, hopefully he will be fit as soon as possible.

However the good news for ATKFans is that the Canadian-International, IAIN HUME is slowly getting into the deadly form he is known for and hopefully he has saved his best for the business end of the tournament.

I like players who can play in different positions. Of course, there is one position when they are comfortable. Hume has that and I am happy with him. He is working really well – Coach, José Molina

ATK is now up against a team that knows how to fight back & qualify for the semis.. Marco’s team, CFC got a vital 2-0 win in their previous encounter and will be all set to give ATK a tough time at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at the Sunday night..

ATK strikers will surely have to notch up their game a level up as they face the likes of John Arne Riise, Bernard Mendy, Jerry, protecting CFC’s goal. If ATK is to keep the ball rolling in their favor, its very necessary to keep the Brazilian midfielder, Rafael Augusto marked through the entire length of the game.

Tomorrow’s game will see two young Indian Goalkeeper protecting the goal, Debjit Majumdar for Team ATK & Karanjit Singh for the Super-Machans. Both the keepers are in excellent form this season. Its quite interesting that Coach Marco has swapped Karanjit with Dwayne Kerr, inspite of his brilliant performances, back-to-back.. On the other hand, ATK Goalie, Debjit has played all 10 ATK games so far and has had the all important support of Coach, Jose Molina, who was himself an excellent Goalkeeper!

This was our preview for the all important game coming up on the Sunday-night. Signing Off, You guys have a great day! 🙂
