The perfect game of football would finish 0-0 said Gianni Brera, the great Italian Football writer. As the newcomers, Jamshedpur FC held ATK  for a goalless draw at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur. Both the teams were eyeing 3 points but they had to settle for a point each, in the end, not the perfect ending both the teams certainly wanted.

Here are 5 talking points from the game

1.Not a perfect pitch

The match saw JRD Tata Sports Complex becoming the 12 venues overall to host an ISL game. The home fans pained the stadium red making it an amiable condition for a game of football. But, the pitch played spoilsport .there were uneven patches on the ground right from the beginning. This worsened as the game proceeded. As a result, players found it difficult to control the ball or even make runs without being hurdled by the patches.

The stadium underwent a major revamp of 40 crores to host the ISL games. It was said that the grass seeds from Australia were imported for the pitch were the grass from Bermuda which was sown earlier failed to grow. But this didn’t prove helpful as the authorities failed to serve a good pitch. Jamshedpur plays hosts to Pune city on Dec 10. Hope the authorities concerned make the best of the conditions available for a game of football.

2.Change of Hands in the Goal

ATK replaced Debjit who had a bad outing last time. Jussi Jaaskelainen was his replacement. The six-foot goalkeeper from Finland has had a brief outing in the premier league playing for West Ham and has also represented his national team in 56 appearances.He showed a lot of character in by returning with a clean sheet. He also made some crucial saves keeping the opponent strikers at bay.

3.Prabir Das

Prabir Das was easily our player of the match. Often seen running down his right flank with the ball and making some crucial tackles . He held the hope for ATK in the match.

But in the end, even he couldn’t make the difference as ATK’S goal drought continued.

4.Eugenson another ATK injury?

When ATK signed Eugenson Lyngdoh he seemed like just the right man for them to retain the title. But ever since he hasn’t been in the pick of his form.Though he started in all the three games he barely made an impact playing in the central midfield. This made things difficult for the team while attacking. He also picked up a muscle strain just before halftime and  was replaced with Rupert Nongrum adding to the injury woes of ATK

5.Points hard to come for ATK

ATK with 2 points from three games finds themselves at the 9 th place in the ISL Table. While Jamshedpur moves to the fifth place with 3 draws.

With two away games against Chennaiyin and Mumbai City FC, the road ahead seems difficult for ATK. The players should put in their best performance to stand a chance to make it to the last four.
