Bengaluru FC vs ATK :Talking Points

Match 42 of ISL 4 saw the new ENTRANTS Bengaluru FC face the reigning champions ATK at the Sree Kanteraava Stadium, Bengaluru. The Match ended 1-0 in favor of the home side with Sunil Chhetri netting the only goal.

1.Defense

Though we conceded a goal our defense was easily the best segment among the three .debjit was up to his mark with some good saves. Our defenders also made a few vital clearances and tackles. If it weren’t for them the scoreline would have read 3-0 or worse.

2.Lacking Creativity

The Midfield lacked creativity sending some odd long balls forward. The crosses and passes also lacked creativity making it difficult to score the equalizer. There were few ambitious tries in the second half but it failed to yield a goal.

3.Questionable Team selection

ATK made 4 changes to their 1-1 draw against GOA FC.The struggling Robin Singh was given a chance and he failed to impress this time as well. There is still a question mark over why Bipin Singh didn’t start the game. While Jordi was instrumental in the defense and so was Thorpe.

4.Substitutive Fallacies

ATK was trailing 1-0 in the first half .we were in desperate need of goals. Then came the substitution of Zequinha arguably our key player with Ryan Tyalor this lessen our chances of scoring the equalizer let alone the winner

5.Mid Table Crisis

Almost halfway through the season and ATK find themselves in middle of the points table. This finds the ATK fans at a surprise as ATK has at most of the times been in the top half of the table.ATK of this year definitely lacks creativity in the midfield so with the transfer window opening all we could hope is for good signings.
