Led by Robbie Keane’s attacking strategy, ATK brushed aside Chennai City FC to reach the Quarter-Final of Hero Super Cup. ATK’s attacking trio Keane, Zequinha and Mbatha were the driving force for this convincing win. Both team started in cautious mode in the first half. ATK slowly took control of the game and started dominating the possession but still to find a goal against south Indian side.  However, it would be ATK who would draw first blood after 40 minutes. Hitesh got a loose ball outside the box and fired a long range shot on target. When everyone was assuming that ATK would go to break with a lead Chennai scored a goal in injury time of first half to level the score.
In second half, ATK started well. When Keane was cool and calm with his brilliance, Zequinha always created threat from left flank each time he gets the ball. Mbatha was effective with his speed and control. Robin Singh missed a one on one when he finds Chennai goalkeeper instead of net. In 57th minute Zequinha passed a nice ball to Keane who dribbled into the box and passed the ball to Mbatha. Mbatha placed in front of Zequinha who did not miss the opportunity to score. After conceding the second goal Chennai came back strong. Sosairaj and Joachim created some menace in ATK defense.
But Ashutosh scored the third goal when Robin assisted it from a corner in 76th minute. And Keane scored the fourth one from Zequinha’s cross to make it 4-1. ATK fans finally get some moment to cheer for the club. They will face Goa in the quarter final.
When defense is still a concern for ATK, their attacking players can create some problem for the opponent. Robbie Keane as coach and player would get a full marks as he won 2 out of 2 matches after taking the charge. Fans are excited now and waiting for a revenge against Goa in the quarter final.
