Born in Budge Budge,West Bengal RuiDas began his career by playing with the youth clubs of Mohunbagan and Bhawanipore.
Indian Super League side Atletico de Kolkata signed former India U-23 international Avinash Ruidas on loan from East Bengal for the third edition of the high-profile league. Being only 21 years old he certainly had ruled the hearts of people.
Ruidas, who had played for youth side of Mohun Bagan before joining I-League second division outfit Bhawanipore, joined the colours of an ISL side for the first time in his career, after impressing the officials with his performances for the I-League club.
Over the last couple of years, the Budge Budge born winger has become a vital cog in the Red and Golds squad and has made 15 appearances in the country’s top flight league. His only goal in the competition came against Bengaluru FC in 2015, which earned Avinash’s side an important 1-0 win against the Blues.
Atletico, had their pre-season training in Spain, have signed Indian players who either hail from West Bengal or play for one of the Kolkata sides, with the sole exception being youngster Bidyananda Singh. The first ever champions of ISL have already snapped up the likes of Debjit Majumder, Pritam Kotal, Lalrindika Ralte, Robert Lalthlamuana, Prabir Das, Jewel Raja, Shilton Paul, Arnab Mondal, Kinshuk Debnath, Bikramjit Singh and Bikash Jairu. These players showed that age is just a number and if you have the talent no force can stop you. They have inspired many and continues to do so.
We wish the young talents of ATK and especially RuiDas for the upcoming semis.
